REGARDING 2022-2023 NEGOTIATIONS

Dear GUSD Community,

We are pleased to announce that the CSEA and District negotiations teams had a successful second meeting on June 24, 2022, regarding negotiations for a new three-year contract commencing with the 2022-2023 school year.  Both teams signed a Tentative Agreement (Part One) on updating language for Article I Organizational Security, Article VI Probationary Period, Article XII Layoffs, Article XVI Hours and Overtime, Article XVI adding Catastrophic Leaves, and Article XXIV for a new three-year contract.  As we wait for a final budget adopted by the State, the teams agreed to reconvene negotiations on July 11, 2022, to bargain salary and health benefit increases, and CSEA’s early release proposal which would all be memorialized in a Tentative Agreement (Part Two) after concluding negotiations on those items.

The parties also agreed to renew for the 2022-2023 school year, both the Bilingual stipend and Attendance Clerk/Health Aide extra hour stipend.  We are pleased to have had a very productive and successful second meeting and look forward to continuing the collegiality achieved as we conclude successor negotiations for a new contract commencing with the 2022-2023 school year.

In partnership,

Dr. Bryan Ballenger
